Carestream DRX-1 Reduces Radiation Exposure, Expedites Imaging Results
Baltimore (August 14, 2012 ) – MedStar Union Memorial Hospital is advancing patient care with an innovative wireless digital radiography detector designed to produce a higher quality image, using a significantly smaller dose of radiation.
The Carestream DRX-1, which is the size of a small standard cassette, will replace existing X-ray equipment to digital radiograph. It will allow for immediate access to images, reduce exam times for patients, and lead to quicker diagnosis for faster treatment decisions.
“What impresses me most about this new technology is twofold,” said Deb Windsor, Director, Imaging Services MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. “In addition to providing a traditional portable chest x-ray, we are able to enhance the physician's ability to locate various lines and tubes, like ng tubes in the patient.”
