MedStar Union Memorial Hospital to Honor the Baltimore Ravens
Champions of Care Event to Recognize Division Champs for Off-the Field Triumphs
BALTIMORE, MD – (February 24, 2012) – Every two years, MedStar Union Memorial Hospital holds its signature fundraising event, aptly named Champions of Care, to honor and support specific areas of healthcare where associates champion for the care and safety of patients every day. On April 21st on the field of M&T Bank stadium, proceeds from this year’s event will benefit surgical services. And in an unprecedented move, the hospital will present its first ever Champions of Care award to an outside organization for outstanding service to the community.
“This is an inaugural award, that we really feel deserves to go to the Baltimore Ravens,” said Bradley S. Chambers, president of MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. “This is not about their division championship or season performance; it is about all that the Baltimore Ravens organization has done to bring the community together. It’s for their commitment to improving the lives children and adults. We applaud what they do, as true champions of care, and are proud to be a corporate partner with them.”
Mr. Chambers will present the award to the president of the Baltimore Ravens, Dick Cass.
The evening will include a silent auction utilizing hand held devices, provided by BidPal, which allow attendees to bid and monitor an auction from anywhere, even their seat.
There will be live music and a short program with the presentation of the inaugural Champions of Care Award to the Ravens.
