One of Only 65 Hospitals Named by Becker’s Hospital Review
Baltimore, MD (October, 2011) — Union Memorial Hospital was among only 65 hospitals nationwide to make the Becker's Hospital Review list of Hospitals With Great Cardiology Programs. The list recognizes some of the most outstanding hospitals for heart care in the United States.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States. Union Memorial, and the listed organizations, have made strides to combat this statistic through groundbreaking research, high-quality care and state-of-the-art treatments. The hospitals have also extended their care beyond facility walls to educate their local communities about heart health, helping to sharpen our country's focus on preventive care.
To develop this list of 65 hospitals, the Becker's Hospital Review editorial team researched and analyzed a large number of organizations, their clinical accolades, and contributions to the field of cardiology. Resources from prominent and reputable healthcare sources were used to finalize this selection, including Thomson Reuters, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, American Stroke Association, the American Heart Association, U.S. News & World Report and HealthGrades.
