Union Memorial Hospital Announces Dr. P. Justin Tortolani
Baltimore, MD — (April, 2010) Union Memorial Hospital announced one more reason to select it’s nationally recognized orthopedic program for spine surgery: Dr. P. Justin Tortolani.
Dr. Tortolani joins the Union Memorial Orthopedics and Sports Medicine program, teaming with Dr. Paul Asdourian, in treating the vast array of spine disorders, including herniated discs, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and spondylolisthesis.
He was a leading investigator for an FDA sponsored clinical trial which compared the outcomes of spinal fusion to those of total disc replacement. The study revealed total disc replacement yielded better long term results and a faster recovery.
Dr. Tortolani, the cover photo of Baltimore Magazine’s top Doctors in 2009, is considered an expert in the field of cervical and lumbar disc replacement surgery.
He is a Princeton graduate and completed a spine fellowship at Emory University and post-graduate training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
